CharityBlog

For voluntary and community organisations

About

CharityBlog is part of VolResource, complementing the functional content on VoluntaryNews.

Use CharityBlog for more general material (less newsy), posing questions or expressing an opinion.

  • Add your comments to existing items - initial ones will have to be approved by an admin bod, to stop unwanted spam links etc, but we’ll try to do this quickly.
  • Or create your own mini-blog (which can be accessed via the ‘By Author’ section). Request  a username and password using the VolResource response form.

Items should be about or for the voluntary sector (which includes charities and community groups) in Britain or Ireland. Please, no promotion of commercial services for charities - place a GoogleAd instead or ask us for other options.News items which are of relevance to a cross-section of the sector can be posted to the VoluntaryNews site, which has separate user registration.

To receive regular news, events, resources and regulatory updates, sign up to our weekly email newsletter for the voluntary and community sector across the UK. Or check out the main VolResource site - go to the About page for more background.

Note: OpenCharityBlog has been merged with this one.

Logging in problems?

Most people won’t have any problems logging in, but there are a number of things which can stop you doing so:

  • Note that username and password are case sensitive - if you registered using a capital letter (e.g. Fred), type it that way!
  • Cookies must be enabled.
  • Web browser software (Internet Explorer, Opera etc) often keep visited pages ‘cached’. You may need to clear this cache for corrections to work (especially after enabling cookies we find).
  • We’ve found a quirk with Opera, which logs you in but leaves you on the log-in page. If so, visit the site front page and go to Site Admin, bottom right.
